HOUSTON: WE HAVE LIFT-OFF – The Road to Launch my First YouTube ad – Day 11
Welcome to final day 11 of the road to launch my first YouTube ad. Today I did in fact launch my YouTube ad.
From start to finish launching my YouTube ad took 11 individual days or perhaps a better way to put it would be 11 stages.
I say this because these days were not consecutive and had significant gaps in between them. But each day represented a milestone in my journey.
You can review all of these steps here: The Road to Launch my First YouTube ad – The Complete Series.
The final day was perhaps the easiest out of all 11 days.
Launch my First YouTube ad
I had two important tasks to do:
1. Construct my final destination URL using www.utmbuilder.net
This is extremely important in paid-for advertising because it gives you the ability to track exactly where leads are coming from. This is important because it guides you as to where to invest your money to get the best return.
2. Define Target Audience and Launch ad
This may be one of the most skilled aspects of launching an ad. Fine tuning your targeting so that you do eventually target the correct people.
Initially, you simply cast a big net based on assumptions of who you think you are targeting.
It’s unlikely you’ll get this right the first time and as a result, you’ll be burning up money for the sake of getting data.
What Determines Your Advertising Success
There are a lot of factors at play when determining your advertising success, such as:
1. Understanding your ROI, so you know how much you can spend on each conversion
2. Interpreting the DATA so that you can optimize your targeting
3. Aligning your message with your customer avatar
4. Aligning your landing page with your customer avatar
5. Making sure your sales funnel does technically work
6. Ensuring your conversion tracker works
7. Growing audience lists that you can remarket to through the use of tags and pixels
The launch of the ad is really the tip of the iceberg. Launching your YouTube ad simply brings you to a new level of work, that needs an entirely new level of expertise in order to make it work.
Ultimately this will be become a test of endurance, learning and adapting.
At this point all I can say is watch this space as I continue on this journey into the unknown.
I hope you enjoyed this 11 day YouTube series and were able to get something out of it. I certainly did.
